About Us
While its lineage dates back to the beginning of the century, the Ukrainian Society in Switzerland was formally established in 1945 by resident Ukrainians as well as refugees and students, many of whom were unable to leave Switzerland after the Second World War. Its purpose was to; provide a venue for contact between Ukrainians residing throughout Switzerland, organize social events, maintain and preserve Ukrainian culture in the Diaspora, inform about Ukrainian matters, and officially represent its members in the public sphere.
